Leading IoT technology market research service provider BergInsight announced a new market analysis report including connected vending machines yesterday.
In 2019, the number of installed vending machines worldwide is estimated to be 4.2 million. Of this equipment, North America has a large market share of about 2 million units, while the European market has a relative market share of 1.1 million units. As of the end of 2019, the number of other regional networked vending machines in the world is estimated to be 1.1 million, and the key is spread to Japan, China and Canada.
BergInsight predicts that by 2024, the total number of connected devices in the world will increase at a compound growth rate (CAGR) to 8.9 million. Thus, by the end of the forecast analysis period, worldwide share will be achieved.
There are many participants in the worldwide market for connected vending machine solutions. Many of the leading service providers are all professional and technical enterprises, presenting telemetry and cashless settlement solutions for networked vending machines.
AdamBjorkman, investment analyst for the IoT technology at BergInsight, said, "After the British technology companies (USATechnologies) recycled CantaloupeSystems in 2017, they ranked first in terms of the number of installations. At this stage, there are over 1 million connected vending machines." Other leading technology distributors include CraneConnectivity Solutions, IngenicoGroup, Nayax, and Televend (INTIS). VianetGroup, Vendon, MatiPay and InHandNetworks are other examples of technical participants with a relatively large number of installations. Mr. Adam Bjorkman once again said: "Because of its prominent influence in our country, InHandNetworks is an interesting example."
In the past two years, the total number of vending machines in China has increased significantly. BergInsight estimates that China will become a key player in the connected vending machine industry.
AdamBjorkman concluded: "Most of the mobile phone payment and remote access to multimedia system content are standard equipment of vending machines in China. Face recognition technology is a continuously increasing development trend, and it can use the face to perform payments."
